Came in for breakfast at 10. Bathroom was out of toilet paper (they open at 8). Got our order wrong (cashier entered the wrong item) and then the ‘steak’ sandwich had about 2 pieces of steak….not an overall great impression. Added a star due to the willingness to at least get the one item correct when we said the order wasn’t right. Maybe they were having an off day, but probably wouldn’t be willing to chance it again.

Poorly managed location (dirty tables & floors with staff standing around talking and using expletives that guests can hear). Portion sizes also quite small compared to the cost. $11.79 for a Baja bowl that barely covered the bottom of the bowl as compared to an extremely flavorful, filling and healthier alternative at a nearby Cava for $10.35. Guess where I’ll be going from now on?

There were three people working at the Bluffton, SC Panera. Initially, I tried to reason the appearance of the restaurant was because of staff shortages but soon we realized it was apathy. The young man who took our order was grumpy. My husband and I were done with our meal before they refilled the drink containers. I took my soup back because it was barely lukewarm. The man who took our order told me it was the right temperature. I told him it is not warm enough so he grabbed a thermometer to test the soup behind the counter. He told me I could warm it up at a microwave in the front because he could not warm it since it left the prep area. That’s good news they keep that standard. I asked what was the temperature of the soup and was told it was close to the required temperature. He never offered an apology or offered to bring me a new bowl when the soup was heated properly. The restaurant tables were dirty and papers were all around the restaurant floor. I returned to the counter and asked if anyone else was working besides the man and woman. She told me there was another person there. I told her I was sorry they were understaffed and asked if the manager was available. She told me all three were managers. That was shocking to me! Corporate Panera needs to visit this location because it needs some mentoring if managers and employees so the team can meet the usual excellence of Panera restaurants.

We went to the drive thru for the first time (didn’t know that it existed) for a few things because I just came out of surgery and didn’t want to worry about food. They were so helpful and knew what I was talking about when I was describing the food items! 🤦‍♀️🤣 Everything went great, the food was delicious but when I came out of my drugged up mind I looked at the receipt and I about died! I think I ordered everything from the menu! And the worst part was my husband was driving and let it happen with a smile!!! 🤨🤔

We had the new cheesesteak sandwich and it was amazing! I got a cinnamon bagel too and wow, I’m now addicted to it!
