Founded in 1954, this North Carolina established grocer chain offers the likes of large meat department, deli with Boar’s Head meats and cheeses, bakery, produce and the usual array of boxed, canned, frozen, cleaning and personal hygiene items. Extras can be found with The Cakery, Chicken Kitchen, Sausage Works and The Beer Den, with a selection of crafts and drafts brewed local. A selection of wine, beer and other adult beverages are also available. The theme song amongst the grocer businesses is the “empty shelves blues” and this was quite noticeable here. Also, after working 8 years in grocer retail, I find myself engaging in staff contact and interaction to see if staff do engage before I do. I had nearly completed my tour of the store, coming in contact with 6-7 staff, before encountering a gentleman in the frozen department stocking that took the time to make eye contact and talking with me. The young lady manning the self check out was friendly and helpful, as the registers were super sensitive. Do shop sales, specials and deals to get the bang for your buck. Store is clean, bright and well organized.
Beautiful and clean store, fantastic food items as well! The only headscratching moment was during checkout where an older woman with long disheveled hair was literally throwing my items around to the point of me asking if it was a practical joke. No joke but certainly an odd experience!
Friendly staff and free cookie for kids while you shop! Fresh produce and bakery items are on the top of our shopping list. The meat department staff is knowledgeable and helpful for planning how much meat to buy for family gatherings and cookout meals.
Love this location on South Commons Dr . Clean and well stocked. The most pleasant young man always with great and helpful attitude by the name of Eddie works here . Usually he helps me with lottery at courtesy booth but has rung me out at register many times. Always polite and professional.
Great high-end store. Sales are terrific, but every day prices are high. Fresh vegetables are always good.
